The following assistance programs are available for eligible residents in Michigan.

Winter Protection Plan

Protects against service disconnection and high energy bill payments during winter months.

Weatherization Assistance Program

Provides free home weatherization services to eligible homeowners and renters.

State Emergency Relief Program

Provides crisis intervention assistance for energy-related expenses such as heating fuel, electricity and home repairs.

Medical emergency protection

Postpones service disconnection in households where there is a medical emergency or protective services emergency.

Active duty disconnection protection

Offers service disconnection protection for active military personnel and their families.

Critical care customer shut-off protection

Protects against service disconnection if a service interruption would be immediately life threatening.

Home Heating Credit

Provides assistance to help pay for heating expenses.

Michigan Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF)

Provides assistance with overdue utility bills for those financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
