Visit Energy Park at Wisconsin State Fair, Aug. 4-14, for free family fun. Our daily lineup features performances, exhibits and demonstrations in a clean, relaxed park setting. Energy Park is on the west side of the fair grounds on Wetley Way at Center Street.

Whether you’re a foodie, are planning to garden with kids, looking for some cool new plants to grow, or interested in supporting pollinators, you’ll find plenty of ideas at the Energy Park gardens. Plus, gardening expert Melinda Myers will share ideas on how to create “Affordable Food Gardening,” no matter the size of your garden. Learn about new tools and garden products to help make gardening easier — and more fun — for all involved.

Growing your own food can boost the flavor and nutritional value of your snacks and meals as well as save you money. Learn growing methods and space saving strategies to help maximize your harvest and return on investment. Melinda will cover proper planting and care tips to ensure success. She’ll also share the benefits growing your own food provides you and your family.

Did you know you can increase your container gardening success and minimize maintenance with some simple strategies? Melinda will share her favorite ways to create and maintain beautiful ornamental and productive edible container gardens all season long with minimal effort. She’ll also provide vacation care strategies for keeping your container gardens hydrated while you’re away.

Each day of the fair, Melinda will cover a different group of popular vegetable favorites to help you increase your growing success. Once you know Melinda’s tips and tricks for planting, care, harvesting and ways to manage common problems, you’ll boost the health and productivity of the plants and your enjoyment.

See feathered friends up close and learn about their habits, habitats and history from Schlitz Audubon Nature Center experts. Watch for impromptu bird sightings in Energy Park and ask questions. We even have an "early bird" show for guests who stop in when the fair opens.

Power! Play! Pandemonium!

Power! Play! Pandemonium!

Roll the giant dice and test your safety knowledge. Participate in fun, interactive activities and wear the same safety gear our pros use when they make repairs to our equipment. Learn about trees and wires, install an insulator while wearing protective equipment, and install pipe connections.
