Act 141

Wisconsin Act 141 was signed into law on March 17, 2006, and required Wisconsin energy utilities to establish and fund statewide energy efficiency and renewable resource programs.

Act 141 rates

We Energies is required to transfer 1.20 percent of their annual electric and natural gas revenues for this purpose. This amount is included in your current rates. Act 141 rates can be found in the electric and gas tariff sheets:

Large energy customer cap

Large energy customers are identified by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) as defined in Wis. Stat. § 196.374 (1) (em). Act 141 contributions by large energy customers are capped at the large energy customer’s 2005 program fees. Because program fees are already included in your rates, you will see a monthly credit for Act 141 fees and a daily charge for 2005 contribution. Learn more

Self-directed energy efficiency program

Customers determined to be large energy users have the opportunity to implement a self-directed energy efficiency program. The process for submitting a proposal and the requirements for qualifying as a self-directed energy efficiency program are provided in PSC 137.09, Wis. Admin. Code. Learn more
