We Energies has issued a request for proposals (RFPs) for up to 200 megawatts of wind generation in an effort to reach its target of at least five percent of retail electric energy sales coming from renewable energy sources by 2011. Contracts resulting from these proposals will be for a 20-year term and for a minimum of 20 megawatts. Projects must be in-service by no later than Dec. 31, 2004. Proposals received by Feb. 28, 2003, will be evaluated for the short list of qualified projects selected for in-depth evaluation.
