Ready for service requirements - natural gas

Send in your Natural Gas Ready for Service Card (PDF 56k) after all requirements are met. Upon receipt, we will schedule an installation date.

  1. Locate, mark or expose any privately owned underground facilities or buried obstructions – such as a well or underground yard lighting – with stakes, spray paint or flags. We Energies and/or its agents will not be held responsible for damage that occurs to customer-owned underground facilities that are not properly located and marked before natural gas service installation.
  2. Clear a 10-foot-wide path along the service route from the property line to the meter location. Make sure dirt piles, construction materials or other things are not in the way.
  3. Prepare the ground around your building and along the service route to within 4 inches of final grade.
  4. Make sure the wall is built and framed at the meter location.
  5. Send your payment (if applicable).

Note: Returning your Electric Ready for Service Card before completing all requirements may delay installation.
