The First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee, which has 750 members, is committed to performing community service and working to achieve ecological responsibility. SOS – Sustain Our Society is a new sustainability program established by the members, which focuses on conserving energy by addressing insulation and other energy efficiencies in the historic building, and then creating clean, renewable energy through its solar photovoltaic system. The society also educates the congregation about what steps are feasible and productive to take now to sustain the society and create a better future.
