Wisconsin Time-of-Use
Time-of-Use saves money on your electric bill if you can use some large appliances on evenings and weekends rather than weekdays. With Time-of-Use, electricity prices are lower when energy demand is low (off-peak) and higher when demand is high (on-peak). The more you shift large electric appliance off-peak (such as space and water heating equipment), the greater your savings.
We offer Time-of-Use in three levels:
- Level 1
(Available to residential and commercial customers.) This level has the least difference between on- and off-peak prices. This reduces potential savings but minimizes risk of paying more than you would with standard prices if you use too much electricity during on-peak hours. This is a good option to get acquainted with Time-of-Use.
- Level 2
(Available to residential and commercial customers.) This level increases the difference between on- and off-peak prices, which increases potential savings but also increases risk if you use too much electricity during on-peak hours.
- Level 3 (Available to residential customers only.) This level has on-, mid- and off-peak periods with prices that vary by season. This level offers the greatest potential savings if used correctly, but it also has high risk if you use too much on-peak electricity.
