Calculation of monthly natural gas charge

Natural gas charge is a locked-in price. You could pay more or less for natural gas under the Rely-a-Bill program than you would under Budget Billing or standard service.

Bill amount based on estimated natural gas prices and historic average use. Amount is reviewed after six months and may be changed if a newly calculated bill amount differs significantly from the current bill amount. You could pay more or less for natural gas under Budget Billing than you would under Rely-a-Bill.

Bill amount fluctuates monthly with natural gas prices and usage. You could pay more or less for gas under standard service than you would under Rely-a-Bill.

Length of program

This is a 12-month contract. An exit fee and early termination adjustment are charged if you are removed during the contract. The exit fee may be waived due to a hardship.

You can pay your outstanding balance and switch to standard service at any time. Account balances are applied to customer accounts upon cancellation. Exit fees do not apply.

You may switch to Budget Billing at any time. Exit fees do not apply.

Charge adjustments

Monthly natural gas charge is locked in for 12 months regardless of changes in natural gas prices and changes in usage due to varying temperatures.

Bill amount estimated and fixed for a number of months, but the amount may be adjusted up or down during the year based on fluctuating natural gas prices and usage.

Bill amount changes each month as natural gas prices fluctuate and usage changes.

Year-end balance

No end-of-year balances. No refunds and no charges for additional usage.

Any balance is due at year-end.

You will pay the current rate for all natural gas you use.

Program fee

Quote amount includes 7 percent program fee.

Enrollment period

Participation is limited, and customers may enroll only during specified enrollment time.

Efficiency discount

Participants installing a more efficient natural gas heating system, a high efficiency natural gas water heater, air sealing and insulation or replacement windows and doors may be eligible for a reduction in their bill. Increased efficiency decreases usage patterns and is also reflected in following year's Rely-a-Bill amount.
