Disconnection rules

Utility service disconnection can be scheduled in vacant units when human health or property is not threatened.

Utility service disconnection also may occur when customers fail to pay their energy bills or fail to make payment arrangements. A disconnection notice is sent with their monthly statement advising them that their account is past-due and urging them to make a payment or payment arrangements. Several services are available to help customers avoid service disconnection. For more information on payment arrangements, call 800-842-4565. Service reconnections are scheduled for the next business day after payment is received. Reconnection fees apply.

In winter months, we cannot disconnect service unless the premise is vacant. If you would like service disconnection during this time, call us at 800-242-9137 to schedule an appointment for us to verify the premise is vacant and to access the utility meter(s).

Business customers are not protected by winter disconnection rules.
