Energy for Tomorrow renewable energy program is a tariffed rate rider offered to We Energies electric customers in Wisconsin and Michigan. The tariffs are regulated by the public service commission in the state where you receive service. All changes to these tariffs must be submitted to and approved by the applicable state laws and regulatory policies of the appropriate state public service commission. Notification of changes to Energy for Tomorrow prices will follow the regulations set forth by the appropriate state public service commission.
Customers enrolled in the Energy for Tomorrow program receive a reduction in their Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) based on their level on participation. A customer enrolled at 100 percent pays no fuel-cost adjustment, enrollment at 50 percent receives a 50 percent reduction and a customer signed up at the 25 percent level has their FCA charge lowered by 25 percent.
The Energy for Tomorrow charge will be on your We Energies energy bill. The charge will be labeled, showing your level of participation and the total charge for the billing period. It takes one or two billing periods to activate your participation in Energy for Tomorrow.
Residential and small business customers may sign up, change level of participation and withdraw from Energy for Tomorrow at any time by notifying We Energies at (800) 242-9137. There is no fee to withdraw or change level of participation.
Large business customers must commit to purchasing Energy for Tomorrow for the balance of the calendar year. This agreement is self-renewing on Jan. 1 of each year. Changes in the agreement are required in writing at least 30 days before the Jan. 1 renewal date. Please see the Renewable Energy Purchase Agreement for Large Business Customers (PDF 354k) for specific details and eligibility.
